Waterbed and bubble unit for the snooze room.

Proposed by Sarah Verdonck

3300 euro

De Waterlelie is a special primary school in Moorsele. Their aim? To help children to feel good and offer them opportunities for growth. They hope to achieve this by satisfying their interests and taking their abilities and limitations into account. Toddlers and primary schoolchildren with learning difficulties or light, moderate to severe developmental disorders can attend this school.

De Waterlelie wanted to create a sensory room for these children. A space like this helps sensitive children to calm down. With the support of the Fund, the school could buy some material to furnish this space with for example a waterbed with a mattress that moulds to the child’s body and the warmth emitting from it, helping to fully relax the muscles. This, along with a bubble unit that the children can sit around, will calm the children down (peace in the mind).
