Since its formation in 2007, the main aim of the Eclipse Gymnastics club was to provide the opportunity for all ages and ability to participate in the sport of gymnastics and to socially integrate those members of the communities that are disadvantaged or isolated due to financial or health issues through the sport. Over the last 9 years, the club has encouraged not just the sport, but also the self confidence, self discipline and social development of just less than a 1000 children and young adults.
The Eclipse Gymnastics club recognizes the need to encourage and develop junior coaches in order to assure further growth of the club. The ideal situation is to promote home grown talent. They currently have 2 candidates looking to enroll in the next available course which they would be able to fund with the help of the Alpro Social Fund. Further, they would also like to acquire some new material, more in particular a tumbling mat that due to wear and tear is in dire need of replacement.
