No one is offside

5200 euro

Football Girls Leuven (FGL) is a socio-sports association aiming to give as many girls as possible from the Leuven region the chance to play football. Unlike traditional sports clubs, the association focuses exclusively on girls (from 5 years of age) and actively ensures that no one is left out. Financial, logistical, and sporting barriers are actively reduced in cooperation with Leuven clubs, with 25% of the girls coming from vulnerable backgrounds.

During the summer holidays, the association plans for the first time a camp outside Leuven for U16 and U20 players. In recent years, the camps were always 3-day events in Leuven without overnight stays. For 2025, the association aims to focus on lowering sporting thresholds. For players from vulnerable backgrounds, registration fees are reduced to a maximum of €25. The camp will take place at the SPORTA domain in Tongerlo.

The association wants to continue to develop and sustain initiatives in 2025 to reach even more of the vulnerable target group. For the summer camp in Tongerlo, 130 players in this age group are eligible. The association expects 50 participants. With the initiations in Leuven squares during school holidays, 120 young people are expected to join. The project's goal is to offer football to girls from 5 years old in an accessible and inclusive manner.
