Non-profit organisation ‘Het Havenhuis’ gives a new home to people with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), as a safe haven after a difficult journey. They offer professional support and counselling to people who – completely out of the blue – could but just hold on to life while sustaining a brain injury. They offer intensive residential care and support within a multidisciplinary setting. They also wish to expand their offer of day support for people with ABI who are still living at home.
The house itself consists of a ground floor and a 1st and 2nd floor. The residents sleep in their individual rooms on the first floor. Their daily life (eating, activities, domestic chores, just being together...) takes place on the ground floor. The 2nd floor consists for the time being of an attic and a piece of rough structure, which Het Havenhuis would like to convert into a beautiful and relaxing therapy room.
