The Institut Medico Educatif (IME) offers education in an adapted environment to disabled children between the age of 6 and 14 in view of developing their competences and promote their personal development and autonomy. At the moment, IME welcomes 36 youngsters. Together with their families, the organisation works out an individual project for every child to meet their specific needs and expectations. It also offers special care for children with an autism spectrum disorder. The project entails the organisation of a three-day stay in the countryside to enable the children to discover a new environment and to enjoy a wonderful experience outside of their families. This short holiday break will also give some much-deserved breathing space to care providers and parents.
