Third warehouse for Kledingpunt

Proposed by Michèle Dewaele

4000 euro

Kledingpunt is an association that collects and redistributes children's clothing free of charge to vulnerable families. In 2023, the association opened a second warehouse in Peer, Limburg, thanks in part to the support of the Danone Social Fund. With the Nazareth warehouse (located in East Flanders), it is possible to help not only more children, but also more adults in socially vulnerable situations, who can thus give a voluntary, useful and social meaning to their time.

The demand for clothes for children in precarious situations is constantly increasing, which is why the association wants to open a third warehouse in Flemish Brabant in 2025 with the help of the Danone Social Fund this year.

Since 2022, 1 site has helped more than 1,000 children. With the creation of a second warehouse in 2023, more than 1,500 children have been helped and with a third warehouse, the association plans to help more than 2,000 children a year. Each site works with volunteers as well as people with intellectual disabilities and welcomes foreign-speaking newcomers at weekends in a Dutch-speaking environment. In addition, both sites have launched a school project to offer a learning programme on (opportunity) poverty and sustainability.
