Arame is the "Association Régionale d'Action Sociale et Médicale" (the regional association for medical and social actions) dedicated to children affected by a malignant disease. For more than 30 years, this organisation supports sick children from Alsace who have been admitted to the hospital of Strasbourg with cancer. The main mission of Arame is to improve the conditions of their stay in hospital and, as such, facilitate their therapy.
Every year, Arame also organises a one-week stay in the mountains, more particularly in the Jura area. The purpose of this holiday is to offer these children tailored sports activities to make their treatment more bearable and strengthen their belief in the future. 80% of them will be cured but this always takes a long and often painful treatment. They often spend several weeks in hospital. This trip to the mountains brings a moment of relaxation and joy, far away from their disease and the hospital environment.
