K-Basket Sport CB, a basketball club in Kortrijk, has – next to its regular women's, men's and youth teams – also a G basketball team. G basketball is played by athletes with a mental disability. It is played in mixed teams and the rules and general idea of the game are similar to ordinary basketball.

In 2016, K-Basket Sport CB for the first time wants to participate with its G basketball team in the Special Olympics National Games, which this year will be organised in La Louvière. More than 3250 athletes, 1200 coaches and 1700 volunteers from across Belgium will come together for this great 4-day sports event.

These Games show the final result of a whole year of training and hard work. The competition is a reward for the athletes that makes them feel proud of themselves. They can enjoy playing sports and savour the feeling of satisfaction after their sports efforts. They also engage in new friendships that they can take home with them. With the financial support from the Alpro Social Fund, the club can, among others, contribute to the travelling and accommodation costs of the participants.
