This organisation wants to make a difference to people living in poverty in Heusden-Zolder, by offering material support (food, clothing, household items) as well as a listening ear. They wish to contribute towards better lives for vulnerable people in society regardless of their origins, religious beliefs or the cause of their situation. The operation currently rests upon 8 pillars, all of which are important to the well-being of families. These include ‘Joepie Jarig’ – birthday parties for primary schoolchildren and Groei!
They have noticed that deprived children and students sometimes require guidance and support with learning. That’s why they want to help these children to grow (hence the name Groei!) to become the best versions of themselves. These children are rarely in the spotlight. They often don’t fit in. This is why they organise birthday parties (under the name of Joepie Jarig) for these primary schoolchildren. The organisation provides everything they need for a party to help them feel happy.
