‘Tanderuis’ is a non-profit organisation in Melle that offers educational and psycho-social support to families in East Flanders who have a family member with autism. In 2019, they started a new project under the name “Atelierwerking” (Workshops). They had noticed from their counselling work at home that many children and teenagers with autism have a need for a meaningful way to spend their days. That’s why in 2019 the non-profit organisation wants to start offering all kinds of workshops (a/o baking course, computer initiation, sculpting course, cooking lessons, hobby clubs...) to get children with autism out of their isolation and offer them an instructive but also relaxing activity within a safe group. To be able to offer these workshops, they need to convert a shed into a multifunctional space.
