Since 2014, in the region Tilburg – Den Bosch – Breda, the annual ‘Verbeeten Challenge’ is organised, the challenge being to cover as a team in a sporting way 1000 km in one day. The purpose of the Verbeeten Challenge is to draw attention to and, by way of sponsoring, raise money for the Verbeeten Institute and the Verbeeten Fund. As a regional top-class institute with establishments in Tilburg, Den Bosch and Breda, the Verbeeten Institute fights cancer every day in an intensive, human-centred way.
The proceeds of the Verbeeten Challenge go entirely to the Verbeeten Fund, which ensures that this money is spent in the best possible way. Everything that is raised with this third edition of the Verbeeten Challenge goes to research performed by Institute Verbeeten, more specifically into the possibilities of a more patient-friendly radiation method for patients with brain tumours.
