Apart from organising activities for its own members, VI³ A KVLV Avelgem wishes to support sustainable projects as well. They, among others, work together with ‘Het Ventiel’, an organisation that wants to break the social isolation of people with early onset dementia by organising everyday activities.
Early onset dementia strikes while a person’s active life is still in full swing. Activities that were obvious for so long gradually become impossible because of early onset dementia. ‘Het Ventiel’ organises activities that, with a bit of help, are still possible. With support from the Alpro Social Fund, VI³A KVLV Avelgem and ‘Het Ventiel’ can organise sports activities to draw people with early onset dementia out of their social isolation and to stimulate them to practise new sports.
