Villa Zomernest aims to provide a warm nest for people living with cancer diagnoses and those who care about them. Somewhere to relax and find a better quality of life. The drop-in centre is always there to provide a cup of coffee, somewhere to sit down and time for a chat. Furthermore, the variety of individual and group activities provides plenty of opportunities to let off steam and recharge the batteries. It provides mental health support, information during and after the process and helps improve resilience and well-being.
As well as medical treatment, being able to speak openly about one’s situation is important, as are moments of relaxation in order to process the news, the struggle and the consequences of treatment together. Villa Zomernest, thanks to its helpful volunteers, provides valuable support to people in similar situations. The support of the Danone Social Fund will help to make the administrative running more efficient by providing office equipment and supplies.
